------------------------------------------------------------------ Call for Papers for EUROmC-XVIII-VNS, October 4-7, 2012 ------------------------------------------------------------------ EURO Mini Conference XXVIII on Variable Neighbourhood Search October 4-7, 2012 Herceg Novi (Montenegro) http://www.mi.sanu.ac.rs/~vnsconference2012 Scope and Objectives: ==================== The EURO Mini Conference XXVIII dedicated to Variable Neighborhood Search (EUROmC-XVIII-VNS) will be held in Herceg Novi (Montenegro) October 4-7,2012. The EURO Mini Conferences (EUROmC) constitute one of the instruments provided by EURO (the Association of European Operational Research societies) to promote the research in its field of interest. Each EUROmC is a specialized conference focusing on a particular promising OR theme of research. These events are organized to allow specialists and practitioners of the selected topic of research to effectively screen papers participate in lively debates. VNS is a metaheuristic based on systematic changes in the neighborhood structure within a search, for solving optimization problems and related tasks. The main goal of the EUROmC-XVIII-VNS is to provide a stimulating environment in which researchers coming from various scientific fields can share and discuss their knowledge, expertise and ideas related to the VNS Metaheuristic and its applications. Sections: ========= Theory and Methodology: - Theoretical or empirical analysis of VNS - New variants of deterministic and stochastic VNS - Continuous global VNS - Convergent VNS methods - Metheuristics and VNS - Formulation space VNS - Multi-objective VNS - Parallel VNS - VNS hybrids Applications: - Mixed integer programming - Graphs, communication networks - Clustering, data mining, location - Inventory, routing, supply chains - Packing and covering - Discovery sciences - Other real world problems Submissions: ============ The submission of papers ends on July 01, 2012. Papers with graphic applications should not exceed 8 pages. The accepted papers will appear in conference proceedings and their short abstracts (up to a half page) will appear in the short book of abstracts. Authors can send just abstract (up to a half page) of their presentation. The accepted abstracts will appear in short book of abstracts. The official language of the conference is English. Submissions can be sent by email at: vnsconference2012@mi.sanu.ac.rs or by the website of the conference. Conference Proceedings: ======================= All papers accepted for presentation will be published in Electronic Notes in Discrete Mathematics volume, before the conference starts. (ENDM macro files for paper preparation can be found at: www.elsevier.com/framework_products/promis_misc/endm_package.zip) Conference Book of Abstracts: ============================= All accepted papers/abstracts will be published in short Book of abstracts (without ISBN).
